The antennas below have a 5/16" female fitting to suit all suitable UHF Base's
and require to be mounted onto a metal ground plane area i.e. car, bull bar etc.

 

For best results Collinear antennas should be mounted as close to the metal ground plane as possible!
The use of a Z bracket will reduce the performance of any UHF non ground independent antenna.
Never put a spring under any of these collinear antennas, it will greatly reduce their performance.

RF470

The RF470 is a dipole antenna commonly known as a "Raised Feed". This antenna is the most popular of all UHF CB antennas due to its high gain and short length. The RF470 is strong, almost indestructible as it has no soldered internals that can break but rather is modular made up of parts that fit together and all are replaceable. One of the key features of the RF470 is the ability of using a large range of different antenna tops allowing for different colours, lengths and gains.

The RF470 has a solid chrome plated 1/4 wave tube that is its own tuned ground plane so it is not needed to be earthed in any way and also allows the antenna to be placed in almost any location. Supplied with 4.3 metres of excellent quality RG58cu coax, which is enough to mount in most locations on a vehicle, and is provided with a PL259 solder type connector.

The antenna top of the RF470 is a S474 which is a 3.2mm thick solid stainless steel collinear which is far thicker and stronger than many similar antennas and is available in powder coated black as a "RF470B". It can also be used with Mobile One's FDW470, S474, S474B, M474, M474HD, M475HD antenna tops and can be purchased with any of the above mentioned antenna tops - please ask.


Note - It is not recommended that you use antenna tops other than mentioned Mobile One brands.

CP476SK 

The CP476SK is one of the most popular UHF CB antennas, it has the best performance for any moving vehicle. Its a fibreglass ground independent collinear antenna that is available in white or black. It has a shock absorbing spring with a PL259 base to suit most SO239 type bases such as the Mobile One SOC12C or SAM2s and can be mounted almost anywhere on a vehicle.

The CP476SK is complete with a SOC12C cable assembly that allows the antenna to be mounted onto most bull bars. A 16mm hole is required to mount the SOC12C onto a bull bar.

Pros - Excellent choice for Bull Bar - With the best performance for moving vehicles.
Pros - Easily removed or exchanged with a shorter antenna CP474S.
Cons - It is long.
